it is curious to think of oneself in the context of the history of art do you know i think that to have been on the scene in the 60s or in fact to be on the scene at any point requires a sort of mental certainty that i have not had since the point between childhood and adolescence when everything is clear as day.

i've realized i'm drifting side drifting through foggy backroads at 100mph and the wind is flying at me so fast careening away into the thick and pure night and i don't want to read any fucking books and i don't want to measure up and i don't want to be somebody because nobodies can sit and soak it in we know we're not going anywhere and so we can go anywhere and we can do any goddamn thing we aren't afraid to die cause it's all so far away we've got nothing and everything to live for and in that moment that you've got that you are free free from any cage ever built invincible i feel on the verge of that.
maybe i'm just stoned maybe i'm just stupid but the older i get the more confused i get existence is an enormous thing and every day we spend without rules coasting and drifting on the strangest most delicious moments we drift in and in to the golden road.
i've been thinking about honesty and connectivity cause i've been watching movies natural born killers and i guess across the universe but a lot of other shit too and i think connectivity is maybe too far in the way of i am he as you are she and you are me and we are all together but so relevant we are an enormous spiderweb each attatched to the others the points of intersection and see it's all about truth to the web one cannot deny their influences from the other little silken ties but can only can only feed off of them if we try to use ourselves outside of the spiders web we are useless annoying threads i don't mean that in that way of love love love cause i think sometimes love love love is a damn fool idea but we all come from somewhere and that where is all i don't know i'll read this in the morning. goodnight internet.

last night i dreamed i was in love with a fellow he lived in a white house and its wooden shingles were cracked and peely there were paintings on some of them and on others there were those little butterfly ornaments which so vividly represent another i found his house because i had just been at the rooming house for my work and you see one of the women had lost her nose ring and i'd given it back but then i forget the inbetween and i had to leave anyways and there was this funny car i chased down and inside in the back there was this fellow so grand and it was odd cause nobody was driving and anways we got to his house and i think we made nanaimo bars the day was sunny and my cousin was selling cookies door to door and we took her in you know as the good ones do there was a glittery birthday card and i don't know why

tuesday i thought i'd walk to tsawwasen, but i only walked 25km cause there's a tunnel, and then i had to turn around and then i was captured by the rcmp for walking along the highway, and they took me to the bus and i went home.

strange dreams are made of these:

an alcove with my bed in it

Moving & Art

Dear Lovelies,
I am moving to Montreal on April 30th. Actually that's sort of a lie. I am moving home to Ottawa on April 30th. I am moving to Montreal on June 1st or thereabouts.
I am moving into my aunt's apartment. I will sleep on the loft bed in the front room by the mural of a plant squiggling across the wall. I will sleep in a room with a high ceiling, looking into the tiny-hexagonal-air-shaft-courtyard, the window with the little bright coloured figures dangling, dancing on strings. I am going there partly because here is lonely, partly because there is magical, and a little because my aunt is worried about my 16 year old cousin becoming a young consumer.
I am looking forward to the Tam-Tam and the hot summer air, and the plants and bamboo mats and smells which are that house. I am looking forward to change. I am looking forward to real city & my friends there, who are really nice & cool!
I am looking forward to the possibility of train-hopping, and I am looking forward to hookah bars & metro trains & graffiti murals everywhere. I am looking forward to bottles of wine on front stoops & buying them in the depanneur.
I plan to take with me; a large suitcase of clothes, a box of art supplies, a box of odds and ends (including computer, fabric, photos, and a couple of books. Everything else is being given away or sent to Ottawa.
Also I am hoping to get art into a drawing expo in vancouver. also i am sending art for a mail-art project!

today it was so sunny and nice i lay in the grass and the sun was warm on my hair in february and there are dandelions now, just a few, but still! i talked to two dear friends, and one mother, and one father, and one brother, on the phone today. i ate a hamburger and also a lot of delicious wholesome bread and also mango yogourt & a banana & 3 crown peppermint tea (it's so cheap but good!). i've been gluing green glitter into a book, and convinced my (not so) little brother to get a livejournal. when he does i'll send you there, he's a sweet boy, and makes very good music. yesterday i worked 11 hours and then slept for 13. it was silly. tonight i work also. shifts are beginning to pick up & bussing tables is good.
